These Terms & Conditions govern your use of this website and any services offered by Connecticut Makeup Artist | Jennifer Ballard (“Company,” “Makeup Artist,” “we,” “our,” “us”). By using this website or booking services, you agree to these Terms in full.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site or book services.

1. Services & General Policies

Connecticut Makeup Artist | Jennifer Ballard provides professional makeup services for weddings, special events, photoshoots, and makeup lessons. All services are subject to availability and may require a signed Agreement and a non-refundable, non-transferable retainer.

Pricing, availability, and service offerings may change at any time.

2. Booking Requirements

Services are secured only when the Client has:

  • Signed the applicable Agreement

  • Paid the required non-refundable, non-transferable retainer

  • Received written confirmation from the Company

The Company is under no obligation to hold dates or provide services until all conditions are satisfied.

3. Payment Terms

  • All balances and fees must be paid in cash only unless otherwise specified in a signed Agreement.

  • No Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, or electronic payments.

  • Exact change is required.

  • Lessons require a $50 non-refundable retainer; weddings require a larger retainer as specified in the Agreement.

  • Late fees, overtime fees, schedule changes, and additional services are also cash-only and due immediately when incurred.

Failure to follow payment policies may result in cancellation without refund.

4. Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

All retainers are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Client Cancellations

If the Client cancels for any reason, all monies paid remain non-refundable.
Rescheduling requires a new retainer and must fall within the rescheduling window stated in the Agreement (varies by service type).

No-Shows

Clients arriving more than 10 minutes late to a lesson, preview, or service appointment are considered no-shows and forfeit all payments.

Artist Cancellations

If the Company must cancel due to illness or emergency and a replacement artist cannot be secured:

  • For weddings: The final payment (not the retainer) may be refunded.

  • For lessons: The retainer may be refunded at the Company’s discretion.

This is the Client’s sole remedy.

5. Service Conditions & Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide correct and complete information

  • Follow all prep instructions

  • Disclose allergies, sensitivities, or relevant health conditions

  • Maintain respectful communication

  • Provide a clean, safe work area

  • Follow the timing and location details outlined in their Agreement

The Company is not responsible for reactions caused by undisclosed allergies, changes in skincare, or conditions beyond our control.

6. Safety, Health, and Conduct

The Company maintains a strict safety and hygiene protocol. The Company may refuse or terminate services—without refund—if:

  • A location is unsafe, unsanitary, or inaccessible

  • A guest, vendor, or Client behaves abusively, threateningly, or inappropriately

  • The Client requests illegal or unsafe actions

  • The service environment violates health/safety standards

Pets must be kept in a separate room due to severe allergies.

7. Intellectual Property

All educational materials, makeup lesson materials, worksheets, videos, recordings, or guides provided by the Company remain the intellectual property of Connecticut Makeup Artist | Jennifer Ballard.

Clients may not copy, share, distribute, or teach these materials to others.

8. Photo & Video Use

The Company may photograph or record services for portfolio, website, advertising, or educational purposes unless the Client opts out in writing before the appointment.

Clients may request accommodations for privacy.

All photos provided to the Company by your photographer must include credit to the photographer when known.

Clients posting photos online are requested to credit:

9. Limitation of Liability

The Company is not liable for:

  • Skin reactions

  • Undisclosed allergies

  • Makeup wear affected by weather, sweat, products, or skincare

  • Delays caused by the Client or their party

  • Venue restrictions

  • Changes in skin texture, conditions, tanning, sunburn, or breakouts

Liability is capped at the total amount paid by the Client under the applicable Agreement.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its employees, subcontractors, and agents from any claims arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms

  • Misconduct by you or your guests

  • Damage to property or persons caused by your actions

  • Violations of law or third-party rights

11. Dispute Resolution

All disputes must first be addressed through good-faith mediation in New Haven County, Connecticut.

If mediation fails, disputes will be settled by binding arbitration in New Haven County.

Chargebacks are prohibited. Any attempt to file a chargeback after agreeing to these Terms may be reported and pursued.

12. Use of the Website

You may not use this website for:

  • Illegal activity

  • Harassment, fraud, or harmful conduct

  • Uploading viruses

  • Scraping or copying content

  • Interfering with the website’s functionality

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
